Andrew Mecoli was born and raised in Rome, Italy. Growing up, he spent many summers in Ohio, where in 1985 he picked up a copy of Motley Crue’s Theatre of Pain. He quickly moved on to Slayer and Hardcore Punk, and in 1989 he formed the pioneering Rome Hardcore band Growing Concern, with some of his best friends. In the following years he played guitar in many bands, including Italian New Wave-Rock band Volume, and played keyboards in Electro-Pop project The Public Radar. He played bass and backing vocals on some songs from BAM’s album ‘12 Bars of Blues’. Not a bassist or a singer, Ben asked Andrew to tap into the loose and raw feel of his punk days, and he delivered appropriately unpolished performances.
